Given the above image, the following need to be placed on the graphical user interface. For this task, I'm looking for placement of items, not details. The important aspect is to get the idea across.

Item Name Item Description
Map

Needs to display all targets around the player's current catapult position. A radar type map is what I'm thinking, but you can be creative with it.

Statistics
  • Current Hit Points
  • Applicable Defenses
  • Etc.

Essentially, anything about the catapult that cannot be displayed on or around the catapult itself. Applicable defenses may not be part of this as they could be displayed/applied somewhere else.

Weapons

Displays current weapon as well as a way to change the weapon.

Game Menu
  • Menu to exit game
  • Menu to change options
  • Any other neccessary items that do not need to clutter the visual space

I'm thinking this should just be a small button or something that when activated it pauses the game and pulls up a menu that covers much of the screen.

Abilities

Needs to show a list of abilities and a simple way to indicate usage. Currently, I can only think of one ability (move the catapult), but I haven't given this much thought.

Attack

Needs to show some way of allowing the player to attack. This includes changing the direction, angle, and power of the shot as well as a way of letting the player tell the application that his shot is lined up (in other words, FIRE!).

Terrain Conditions

Show any statistics of the land including wind direction and wind speed.
